Youth Training

The 14-19 division is managed by the 14-19 Regional Manager, Michelle Gladstone.

In South Tyneside and Northumberland we deliver a variety of courses aimed at supporting, motivating and up-skilling young people for their future.

In South Tyneside and Northumberland, we currently deliver a Foundation Learning course, which supports young people 16-18 to gain qualifications and support to move on and up.

The course is individualised to meet the needs of the young person and they are supported by a dedicated tutor and Connexions throughout the programme.

We work as part of a network of training organisations to deliver experience in:

• Administration
• Beauty Therapy
• Construction
• Childcare
• Customer Care
• Hairdressing
• Retail
• Warehousing
• First Aid
• Personal and Social Skills
• Employability Skills
• English, Mathematics and ICT
• Community and Voluntary Work

In South Tyneside and Northumberland we also deliver a variety of programmes aimed at engaging young people into training and developing personal skills.

This includes:

• Foundation programmes which gives a young person the option to try 'bite-sized' courses
• A programme for those who require extra support to help reach their full potential in school, make a successful transition to adulthood and the world of higher education, training or work.
• 14-16 programme aimed at engaging young people at Key Stage 4 in Construction, IT, Personal & Social Skills and Team Building.
• Support into Apprenticeships at Level 2 and 3.
